EPIC
EPIC, or Every Positive Influence Counts, is a mentoring club.
Upperclassmen who are members of EPIC meet with freshman small groups. We mentor freshmen through their first semester of their high school career. The groups discuss how pep rallies work, how the signature form works for midterm week, the things upperclassmen have been doing for a while, but are new to a freshman student. There is also a meeting about the importance of a GPA. We have a pre-meetings with the EPIC mentors where we go over the material to be covered with the freshmen. These meetings occur at either 8:05 am or 3:35 pm, whichever the mentor can attend. However, the meetings with freshmen occur during the school day. Freshmen groups are assigned to the mentor near the beginning of the school year. We also attend both Freshmen Orientations to direct traffic and answer questions. Applications for the following year go out in April.
