Graduation Information
Rutherford County Schools Graduation Requirements
Total Credits Required: 23 credits
· English: 4 credits- Must include English I, English II, English III, and English IV
· Math: 4 credits- Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and a fourth higher-level math course
· Science: 3 credits - Including Biology, Chemistry or Physics, and a third lab science
· Social Studies: 3 credits- World History & Geography, US History, Government and Economics
· Personal Finance: .5 credit
· Physical Education and Wellness: 1.5 credits- Including Wellness (1 credit) and PE II (.5 credit)
· Fine Arts: 1 credit - Art I, Band, Chorus, General Music, Dance, or Theatre I
· World Language: 2 credits - Must be 2 credits in the same language
· Elective Focus: 3 credits - Must be in 1 Program of Study
· Additional Elective: 1 credit
· Class of 2028 Cohort – Computer Science: 1 credit
In addition to the 23 credits required for graduation,
students must also take the ACT and Civics test.
Blackman Collegiate Academy members must also have a .5 credit in
Speech (Honors or Dual Enrollment) or
Critical Thinking and a .5 credit of Honors Senior Capstone
