Animal Poetry Assignment-Stations 

Directions:  Rotate through the following stations and complete each assignment. 

Station 1:  What animal is your personal totem?  Write a 15-20 line free verse poem.  Be sure to include imagery and figurative language.  Post your poem on Padlet and add a graphic! (see QR Code below)   https://padlet.com/boyddo/v2h3olpeyypy

Station 2:  Poetry Notes, textbook pgs 770-774. 

Station 3: Read and analyze 3 animal poems aloud with your group.  Complete the analysis worksheets on sensory imagery. Pgs 796-800 textbook

Station 4:  Read the novel Animal Farm by George Orwell.  Take notes over each chapter: 5 plot details and 1 quotation per chapter. 

Station 5:  Unit 7 Vocab: complete the practice exercises 1-10 for CS, Synonyms, and Antonyms (on notebook paper).  Hilite definition and parts of speech. Quiz next week-

Station 6: Complete the TPCASTT form over the poem “The Fish” pgs 796,797 or “The Christmas Sparrow” pgs 798,799.
