Roster and Mid February Update
This week begins the "official start" to the season per the TSSAA. Athletes will see little difference as this date has legal and insurance implications.
There is a team band. Everyone needs to sign up for this. Furthermore, every sub group either has, or will have, a band as well for more specific announcements. The expectation is athletes and parents/guardians will be signed up in order to receive announcements.
Practice will be over by 5:30 nearly every day. This may change due to extreme weather. We will send out messages as soon as we can when this changes. Also, athletes will need to be picked up and leave the building ideally by 5:45 and no later than 6pm. Most coaches have other responsibilities and/or family duties afterwards. This is also due in part to safety issues.
Below is the roster for this spring. Some items to remember.
1. The coaches have kept as many as possible.
2. Both teams have a lot of depth this year.
3. Coaches are already ranking athletes according to times and ability in practice.
4. With the addition of jumps, hurdles, pole vault, and multi event coaches, we are still assessing athletes in different areas.
5. Athletes will be placed according to the best fit on the team. We are going to try and field someone in every event this year.
6. Athletes are expected to participate in team activities. This includes: fundraising, team building, showing up for Character Coach talks, being on time to practice and events, having acceptable grades, etc.
7. We will be having a parent and team meeting before the start of the season to talk about expectations during the season. Athletes and a parent/guardian representative for each individuals will be required to be there. This meeting will occur in late February.
