PSAT Info

Good afternoon,
This is Beth Stone, Assistant Principal at Blackman High School, and I want you to know about the opportunity to take the PSAT Test coming up in October.

Blackman High School will be giving the PSAT (Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) on Tuesday, October 17th to 9th - 11th grade students who sign up and pay by September 22nd. If a student requires testing accommodations, he or she must sign up before September 15th to receive these accommodations.

Taking the PSAT as a freshman or sophomore is a great primer for the SAT and ACT.  For juniors, The National Merit Scholarship Corp. uses PSAT scores to determine which test-takers will become semifinalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program. You'll be competing against students in your state, and recognition as a winner results in a single-payment monetary award of $2,500. Finalists and other outstanding entrants are also eligible for college- and corporate-sponsored merit scholarships. They vary in value but can be substantial, and some are renewable.

Sign up using the form below. Additional test information is on the sign-up form. Pay for the test either online using the link below or by check or money order to Mrs. Bray in the Counseling Office. The cost of the PSAT is $18.00. You must sign up on the form regardless of the method of payment chosen.
