Tech resources for this course:  Clever and Office 365
If this is your first time accessing Clever from home, you will need to put your entire email address in [email protected] and your password that you always use to log into a computer at school. You can access your Office 365 account by clicking on Office 365/Email under the Student tab on the BHS home page; the username and password are the same as your computer login at school. Also, please follow the class X (formerly Twitter) page @delacruzclass for tips, helpful ideas, updates, and reminders that you will find useful throughout the year.

All Students 6-12 are required to REGISTER for Self-Service Password Reset at this location

https://aka.ms/ssprsetup

They must complete this registration and will continue to be prompted until registration is complete. Please do not skip this step.

Starting today, when new and previous students log into anything affiliated with their school computer login, they will be forced to register for Self Service Password Reset. THIS DOES NOT CHANGE THEIR PASSWORD. It simply is a way to register for if/when a student does forget their school password, they can reset it on their own.

  • Students will be prompted to complete the sign-up process using their existing school username  ([email protected])  and password the next time they login to anything Microsoft related (O365 or Clever). This doesn't change the password, it just registers the student to change later if forgotten.
  • If the student forgets or needs to change the student password in the future: After the student has completed the registration process, the student can use the following link https://aka.ms/sspr or click on "Can't access your account?" on the sign-on page to reset or unlock the account from any device. These links are located on the Tech resources page and Student resources page on the school website as well.
Please log in to https://clever.com to see all of our classroom resources in one place including reading, vocabulary, grammar, and ACT enrichment and remediation! Clever is also where online Pearson Savvas textbook is located as well as Schoology.

PSAT Info

Good afternoon,
This is Beth Stone, Assistant Principal at Blackman High School, and I want you to know about the opportunity to take the PSAT Test coming up in October.

Blackman High School will be giving the PSAT (Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) on Tuesday, October 17th to 9th - 11th grade students who sign up and pay by September 22nd. If a student requires testing accommodations, he or she must sign up before September 15th to receive these accommodations.

Taking the PSAT as a freshman or sophomore is a great primer for the SAT and ACT.  For juniors, The National Merit Scholarship Corp. uses PSAT scores to determine which test-takers will become semifinalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program. You'll be competing against students in your state, and recognition as a winner results in a single-payment monetary award of $2,500. Finalists and other outstanding entrants are also eligible for college- and corporate-sponsored merit scholarships. They vary in value but can be substantial, and some are renewable.

Sign up using the form below. Additional test information is on the sign-up form. Pay for the test either online using the link below or by check or money order to Mrs. Bray in the Counseling Office. The cost of the PSAT is $18.00. You must sign up on the form regardless of the method of payment chosen.
