What is ACT WorkKeys?
ACT WorkKeys tests and certifies that students have the work skills needed to be successful in jobs across a variety of industries and occupations.
High school seniors in Rutherford County who wish to earn this credential will take three assessments in the skills valued most by employers.
-
Applied Math - measures the ability to apply math to problem solving in the workplace.
-
Graphic Literacy - measures the ability to find, understand and apply information presented in charts, graphs, floor plans, etc.
-
Workplace Documents - measures the ability to understand and apply information presented in policies, notes, directions, etc.
After taking the ACT WorkKeys assessment, students will earn their National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) which is recognized by 20,000 companies nationwide, including in Rutherford County! Many of these companies offer priority interviews to applicants who have earned their NCRC.
ACT WorkKeys assessments will be paid for by the Rutherford Works division of the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce. That means it is FREE to students!
