Welcome To Mr. Holt's Geometry Course

Bio:My name is Sean Holt, I have taught math for 8 years, this being my fifth year in Middle Tennessee. I taught previously for three years in Los Angeles, California. This is my third year at Blackman High School, after teaching for two years at Blackman Middle School. 

 

Course/Digital Material: We will be using the online platform version of our Savvas Curriculum and supplement with delta math which can be accessed through clever. I will update Schoology after each lesson for those that miss content days. All assignments can be found on Schoology

2nd Geometry 10-1125

3rd Geometry/Impact 1130-200

4th Geometry 205-330

 

Class Procedures: We do a lot peer learning and group activities. We will start many days walking around the room in randomized groups where students will work through various thinking tasks. After this, we come together to summarize and conceptualized what we learned at our boards by taking a look at some example questions and concluding with vocabulary. 

 

We take 1 quiz every other week, and 1 test about every other week. Most homework is done in class, assignments that are not finished are take home assignments.
