Career & Technical Education
We want to share an exciting opportunity for senior students! All seniors now have the chance to earn The Work Ethic Distinction, a college and career-ready credential.
Students who earn the Work Ethic Distinction receive an exclusive diploma seal and graduation cords, as well as priority interviewing at participating employers from across the state when they meet entry-level job requirements.
Students can earn this distinction by uploading the required supporting documents of the points earned for each standard at www.tnworkethic.com.
If you have questions or want more information, please reach out to me at [email protected].

8th Grade Career Pathway Fair Coming Up!
February 12th, 2025
We are thrilled to present this year’s 8th Grade Career Pathways Fair! This program is specially designed to help students choose their high school pathway using the results from their YouScience Aptitude and Interest Assessment.
Throughout the day, students will rotate through four engaging classes that align with their YouScience results. They’ll dive into high school courses and clubs, and even explore a variety of careers. This event is a great way for students to discover how their unique skills and interests can lead to future career paths they may not have ever considered.
As our 8th graders prepare to register for their 9th-grade classes in the coming weeks, this experience will be helpful. The information they gain will help them choose the best classes and potential careers that match their talents and passions.
We are so excited to provide this wonderful learning opportunity in collaboration with Rutherford Works and the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce. It’s going to be an amazing day, and we can’t wait to see the enthusiasm and curiosity it sparks in our students!
Career Technical Education pathways offered at BHS are listed below; an information video from Rutherford County Schools is linked for each.
All students will select a pathway in their sophomore or junior year and complete three courses in the given pathway. High School Freshmen are encouraged to take one or more electives from different pathways before finalizing their choice.
