District Information for the District Meet at Blackman.
The Blackman Blaze Track at the Inferno, Blackman High School, Murfreesboro, Tennessee
Tuesday, April 30: Running Events beginning at 5pm.
Wednesday, May 1: Field Events beginning at 5pm
Coaches and Athlete Meeting at the fifty-yard line on the track at 4:45 pm both days.
The Gate is five dollars. The price is good for both days' attendance.
We plan on having food trucks at the meet both days.
The weather looks warm but the potential of rain in the morning with chances diminishing in the
afternoon and evening. High looks to be 80 degrees in midafternoon with a low of 60 that night.
Top four places in each event and in the relays will advance to the TSSAA Section Two meet at East
Hamilton High School, Tuesday, May 7. This meet is scheduled to begin late morning EST.
Medals and ribbons will be awarded. Plaques will go to the first and second place teams.
All entries are slowest to fastest heats and shortest to longest or highest marks.
Tuesday - Running Events.
The main gates will be shut and locked to the track. Only school personnel and athletes actively warming
up, competing, or cooling down will be allowed on the track and football field. We will be making
announcements to clear the infield.Check-in will be on the back stretch by the visitors' bleachers. Once athletes check in, they should not
leave the area. From there, they will be escorted to the starting line.
The times listed are tentative. Hopefully, we may run a little faster. However, I would rather we be
diligent and get things accurate and correct than be fast at this meet.
There will be two heats in the shorter distances. Each relay will only have one heat. Girls will run first
then boys.

Again, these times are TENTATIVE. Once we start, we will be on a rolling schedule. We also will do our
due diligence to ensure results are accurate, no matter what the school is, to be fair to those advancing
to the Section Meet.

Wednesday Field Events.
Boys’ shot then girls’ shot.
Girls' discus then boy's discus.
Girls’ long jump then boys’ long jump.
Boys’ high jump then girls’ high jump.
Girls’ triple jump then boys’ triple jump.
Each competitor will receive four jumps or throws since this is a qualification meet.
In the jumps athletes are not allowed to run backwards on the runway per NHFS and TSSAA.
Each event will be given a warmup time. Individual athletes should not be warming up without a coach
or official present.
Shot and disc implements will be weighed in at the start of the meet. Those not meeting the
qualification will be impounded and then given back once the competition is over.
