Blackman High School Tennis – Tryout Information
Tryout Criteria
The coaching staff will be looking for coachable athletes who have a great work ethic and want to learn to be better players and teammates. Prospective student athletes will be tested and evaluated for their overall athletic ability and level of tennis skill. Tryouts will include the opportunity to play points and compete in drills throughout the time we are on the court.
An updated Final Forms account is needed in order to tryout.
An informational form must be filled out before trying out. These can be obtained from Coach Meadows.
*** Please be aware ALL levels are welcome. Some BHS students have been playing tennis for years; some are just beginning.

The following skills will be assessed during the tryouts:

As with most sports, coaches will evaluate players for their ability and potential to fill the needs of the team.
What to Bring and What to Wear
Comfortable Athletic Wear, Tennis Shoes, and your Racket are required for tryouts.
You should bring your own bottled water or reusable water bottle for tryouts.

Girls Tryout: Date: 10/26/23 Time: 4:00 pm- 7:00 pm Location: Adam's Tennis Complex Address: 925 Golf Ln, Murfreesboro, TN 37129 Courts: 1-8 |
Cuts: The final team will consist of 14 boys and 14 girls maximum.
Anyone trying out for the Blackman High School Tennis Team is required to commit at least 1.5 – 2 hours a day to practice and matches from March to May. On match days, you will be required to attend multiple-hour events. If your spring schedule does not allow for you to commit this much time to tennis, then you will either have to adjust your schedule or consider trying out for tennis another year when you have more time.
